In the postwar years, the Trima Hill in the capital had become a kind of economic zone for the Chinese. But there was a decade, there was no sign of them.
However, there are still businesses of Asian descent in Kosovo.
According to the Agency for Registering Kosovo Business, there are currently 405 active businesses of Chinese origin, while 39 Sosh have disappeared. It's also registered to a Russian business.
According to economist Mustaf Kadriaj, the Chinese now see Kosovo as small, while in the years before independence they had exploited the institutional vacuum for operation, using UNMIK power at the time.
Although China has lost its activity within the country, it continues to present its products. In 2021, customs data say Chinese goods have been imported worth over 1m and 950 thousand euros, while trade has not been done with Russia.
China is not considered a strategic state for the Kosovo economy. Moreover, some of its products have been temporarily banned by the government.
It's about two kinds of security cameras, Hik Vision and Dahua, on the blacklist of the United States of America.
