But what is needed for Ukraine to sit down with Russia?
Ukraine's Foreign Minister, Dimitro Kuleba, has said there are two conditions: Russia abandons its invading plans and withdraws all its troops from Ukrainian soil, writes Sky News, reports Periscope.
Speaking of the Indian Channel, NDTV, Kulevba said: “to complete the war in Ukraine, two things have to happen -- thinking in the Kremlin must change and powers like India can mediate that. Moscow should abandon its war plans and switch from a malicious line of peaceful thinking”, he said, to add: “second, Russia must withdraw its forces from the entire territory of Ukraine”.
He said these two points would enable peace talks.
Some comets have claimed Ukraine should give Russia territories so the war can be ended.
However, Ukraine and its powerful allies -- including the United States and the United Kingdom -- have reacted strongly to these calls, saying Russia's victory should not be allowed. /Periscopi/
