The corresponding but less intense results were noted by listening to music. According to researchers, the endorphins released by the body after eating chocolate and listening to music have a soothing and anti-anxious effect and, perhaps, can replace soothing pain drugs.
The study included 64 female students aged 18-25 from the University of Manisa Celal Bayar, who were accidentally divided into three groups: a group that consumed 40 black chocolate and cocoa, three days ago and on the first day of menstruation, a second group heard a 29-minute instrument song.
The third group received no treatment for menstruation symptoms. The results showed that: The average pain dropped from 6 to 10 in the chocolate group and 7 out of 10 to 6 in the band, while remaining at 6 all the experiment in the control group.
