The president of the European Council said that history was written with today's summit because it was held for the first time in the Western Balkans. Speaking of the future, he stressed that it is safer with the Western Balkans within the EU.

According to Michel, the EU must reinforce its capacity to strengthen the common regional market.

Further, Michel added that there are concrete progress to cope with the consequences of the Russian war in Ukraine.
“Chroncrete procedures have been implemented to jointly face the negative consequences of Russia's attack on Ukraine. This war has had serious effects on energy, economic and food supply field”, he stressed.
