Serbian customs officers employed at the border crossings in Jarinje and Brnjak during Thursday have resigned, following the departure of police in northern Mitrovica, Serb List deputies from Kosovo institutions, as well as Serbian judges and prosecutors.
So at least the Serbian headquarters media in Kosovo, Kosovo Online, reports.
Their resignation is a moral act and a sign of solidarity with Kosovo Serbs and evidence of disagreement with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti's policies.
We have had extraordinary co-operation with our Albanian colleagues, both from customs and Kosovo Police. We hope that a solution will be found on this issue”, one of the former Serbian customs officers has said.
According to the Serbian media, customs officers have handed their resignations to the chief of change in Jarinje, and the same one is expected to forward those relevant institutions to Pristina.
Otherwise, Serbia's “List” decided on Saturday (November 5th) that its members leave Kosovo institutions.
This, after a meeting held at Saturday afternoon in Zvecan.
Serbs will not return to the Kosovo institutions until the moment the Kosovo government withdraws the decision on the plates and begins forming Association for Serb majority municipalities.
The head of the Serbian List (at the same time Minister for Communities and Kthim), Goran Rakic, resigned from the position he has led just over a year and a half.
Igor Simic, who is deputy in the ranks of the Serbian List, has also resigned from this position.
Serbs have decided to leave the judiciary as well as police.
“We have decided to leave all political institutions -- the Parliament, Government -- and from four municipalities in northern Kosovo, but also to remove Serbs from the judiciary, police and administrative staff in the four municipalities in the north”, Rakic stressed after the meeting.
