The negative comments of some British media, as well as the labels made by British Interior Secretary Samantha Braveman at the address of Albanians, have also been responded to by the world-renowned singer, I want Lipa. According to her, labels for Albanians such as “criminalisation” are completely unfair and unacceptable.
At a press conference attended by Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj, Lipa said it is necessary to fight xenophobia in the world, and it is necessary that the stigma that people have towards Albanians should be changed.
“It's a big disaster as I see it in the eyes of other politicians. They're unpleasant words. I think we need to fight xenophobia in the world, it's necessary. We have to change the stigma people have against Albanians. This is what we can do, as we need to be accepted as residents in any country where we live”,- said I want Lipa.
While Veliaj has praised it as a final brand I want Lypas concert tonight in “Square. Skenderbej”, the concert which closes the tour of the most famous Albanian singer in the international arena.
I don't think we had a better and better moment, to close this year, when Tirana is the European Capital of Youth, when we have the anniversary of Independence, with the newest Albanian citizen, I want Lipa. This city has had so many positive activities and energy, but this is “final brand” for us as well. We have all the positive energy to have a super-fest today for independence. I want to welcome all those who came from Kosovo, the Presevo Valley, Montenegro. We're going to have a great time today,” Veliaj said at the joint media conference with Doo Lipan. /Periscopi/
