Women's Group Seeks Legal MPs for Self Protection

The group “Religious Thinking and Action Commander” has held an action today, before the Kosovo Assembly.

This group by means of this action has demanded that each woman have the right to carry out her self-defense.

“Today we reiterated our request for legalisation of the exasperating spray for self-defense near the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo. Viewing the criminalisation of the means for self-defense for girls and women extremely unfair, we demand that the state eventually respond and not continue to criminalise itself further” protection.

Daily reports of cases of sexual violence are telling us that the safety of girls and women is continuing to be neglected by state institutions, leaving women and girls vulnerable and easily vulnerable to any space. Sexual assaults, rapes and harassment are the everydayity of women and girls in Kosovo. So for a large part, every day is war. Every day they live in anxiety and fear, with little protection. Since the state is failing to offer security, then we are forced to defend ourselves, with all the means that are available to us. And that, we will not continue to allow the state to deny us”.

We demand that the use of inflammatory spray be decontained for use in self-defense. We will not stop seeking security for the very lives of every woman and daughter who lives in fear today. Until we're all free and safe.
