While most of us enjoy waking up with refreshing water every morning, it may not be best for long - term skin health.
A study conducted by Swedish brand of beauty and prosperity Foreo in partnership with YouGov has found that shower customs in the United Kingdom have an impact on their dermatological well-being.
According to the study, 61 percent of Britons prefer to shower in the morning rather than after work. But dermatologist Simon Zokai says this is the least useful time to wash the body.
In fact, a shower in the evening has a greater advantage than that of the morning. This helps to remove the accumulate of dirt that has been created in the skin throughout the day.
Commenting on the findings, Boris Raspudic, general manager of FOREO, said: “is an argument with some very vocal supporters from both sides, but when it comes to skin care, the shower at night is indeed the best option, as it helps remove all, makeup, oil, dirt and polluting that have been collected during the day of”.
“While the shower in the morning can help you wake up and provide much needed time to plan your day, the benefits for your skin are greatly reduced. If you have to take a shower in the morning, building a quick shower at night will significantly help your skin health”.
