What happens within Smrekonica's open prison, where prisoners make their own bread?

Inside the iron doors of the prison, they say the day lasts longer.

But the 120 prisoners suffering punishment at the Smreconica Correcting Center have found reasons to use prison - day hours working.

Confronted by the law for various works, but in common they have work to do as if they were out.

In the agricultural area, farming soil is being praised, where results become the supply of the institution's kitchen and other correcting centers.

But the potatoes that their prisoners have planted and praised also make each day more prisoners.

About 22 of them are employed in the kitchen, making sure that none of the convicts and staff are hungry.

After completing their morning shift in tasks, everyone in line for one expects to get their food.

The hour - long pause ends, and they all return to their operations.

There are some who come from abroad, who have been after their own service or have done this trade, but there are others who take the trade here and come out very pleased, are kind, disciplined”, said Concipient Dedi, Automechanika instructor.

A little further, Smrekonica welders have completed several cabinets, where one of them will leave for a police station this Tuesday as a donation from this centre.

It's an easy job, we've been working with the flower holders today, much better off being engaged in work than being locked up all the time, says the prisoner.

Of the 120 inside, 100 of these convicts are employed inside the prison.

And Smrekonica's open prison, which is the only one of its kind in Kosovo in addition to working activities, numbers a host of other activities.
