A military plane has crashed into a high apartment complex in Russia's western city of Yeisk, which faces the southern Ukrainian town of Marioupol, on the border between Russia and the Ukrainian Crimea Peninsula, which Moscow has annexed illegally from Kiev.
One of the buildings is involved in flames, according to social media footage.
The BBC reports that pilots were thrown off the plane before it crashed and crashed into the nine-story building in Yessk, located across the Azov Sea from Ukraine, the Russian ministry said.

The aircraft was allegedly a Su-34 combat bomber whose engine was not properly lit during the establishment, Russian news agency Interfax reported.
It turns out the pilots were thrown before the terrible crash. Unconfirmed photos surrounding social media show fire erupting through the building.
Videos published on social networks suggested that an explosion occurred after the plane crashed, and a building from the first floor to the ninth was engulfed by fire.
