Economy Minister Artane Rizvanolli has said that the Kosovo government will honour its pledges to cover energy requirements throughout the country.
But, they will do so by the moment the agreement reached with the Serbian company Elektroserver expires, which he said its implementation is not complete.
“We have international pledges to cover the current electricity demand within Kosovo's borders wherever it is, and we have pledged that we will do so until the deadline expires. We are at a time when the realisation of the agreement is not complete, as long as it has been. Whatever the case, there is progress, as well as the EU and other partners are discussing the next steps in this”.
This company was tasked with making both supply and billing the spent current in northern Kosovo, the Serb-run area.
After the deal, Elektroserver has failed to hand over the latest data to consumers at the Kosovo Electrical Energy Distribution Company and to the Kosovo System, Transmission and Electricity Market Operator COST.
