Very soon in the Kosovo Police uniform, you may not see officials older than 55.
At least that's what it says in a draft pensioning bill that has secured it. RTV Dukagini.
Article 6 of this draft says the age of regular retirement is 55. Ten years younger than now, when the cops retire at age 65.
If this draft were voted out about 1500 policemen would be retired immediately. They would get a pension a little over half the gross salary.
“The police official's regular retirement base from high-ranking police degrees to colonel degrees is four ten 40% of the police official's gross salary at the moment of retirement. Every year the service as a police official, the percentage coffient goes up 2%, but I can't get sixty- 60% of the gross pay”.
And for those of 50 who want to retire, the draft envisions lower wages. At least 15 years of service in police and Inspctors, retirees receive only 35% of the gross wage.
In addition to regular retirement, the category of disability and family retirement is provided.
“The size of a mate's pension, an extramarital mate is 50 50% of the pension paid to the pensioner.”, said in this draft.
That's why the Police Union has remarks, despite not being officially announced whether this draft will be forwarded to commissions.
This too is unacceptable for us, though it's not 100%, why don't a husband and wife enjoy the same pension after the death of one of them. By the Kosovo Police Union, they say this draft is known to them, despite officially refusing to accept”, Zeqiri claims.
Zeqiri says that if this draft returns to the law, there are other objections.
This maximum percentage is at least 80% of the gross salary, because it's also based on current standards and conditions based on the police in the region that we have and that they retire to Macedonia for example. With the last salary you receive”, the head of the Union declares.
The Interior Ministry neither confirmed nor denied the existence of this draft. At least until the publication of this report. Meanwhile, some members of the Commission for Security have said they have not seen the draft, but are expected to be brought to the commission Tuesday.
Kosovo police number about 9,500 officials, forces which are among the only people in the world who still have no health insurance.
