QKUK Union calls for Government: Reflex, 1500 nurses are preparing to leave the country in next year

The QKUK Health Workers' Union has said it is following with great concern the escape of health professionals from QKUK, especially nurses, calling on the Government and the Health Ministry to reflect. “A.G., L.I., G.S., K.D., V.I., G.C., are just a few of the over 500 displaced nurses [...]
“A.G., L.I., G.S., K.D., V.I., G.K., are just a few of the over 500 nurses expelled from Kosovo this year alone. As they prepare to leave during 2023, there are also about 1,500 nurses. Of course it deserves institutional attention, but also serious and maximum efforts to slow down this trend, providing conditions for jobs, but also salary raising”, the union community says.
The union said that Intensive Medicine nurses, Anesthesia technicians, Istrumen, nurses at the Emergency Centre, while generally quality and experienced nurses, are the ones being entertained and recruited by foreign employers,
Their “I would place them in front of the total collapses of each one of these above-mentioned clicks, since these are exactly those professionals who carry these clinics “Up and running”, despite the lack of doctors. Their role is key to normal work functioning”, reads communiqués away.
Instead of pressure, oppression, personal and professional degradation, create safe and better working conditions, respect these professionals and their role, be recognized work and commitment, and be respected as health professionals, not shift their focus from the care of the citizen in the administrative field and courier”.
We hope that even these professionals will not leave Kosovo, because then there will be real collapses in these clinics, while the same cannot be replaced, because such a professional is not created within months, and citizens will suffer the most from”.
