Speaking at a fundraising activity of the Democratic Field Committee for Senators, President Biden said Russian President Vladimir Putin “is not kidding about using nuclear tactical weapons, or biological or chemical weapons”.
President Biden added that “we have not faced the possibility of Armageddon since Kennedy's time and the missile crisis in Cuba”.
President Beden also raised questions on Russian nuclear doctrine, warning that using a smaller-packed tactical weapon could quickly get out of control and bring global destruction.
I don't think there is such a thing as the possibility of easily using a tactical weapon and not ending up in Armageddon”, President Biden said.
American officials have been warning for months of the possibility that Russia will use weapons of mass destruction in Ukraine after facing strategic losses on the battlefield. However, even this week, they have said they have not seen changes in Russian nuclear forces seeking to change the state of readiness for the United States nuclear forces. /Periscopi
