While the opposition is demanding that in exchange for the vote, it is demanding changes of provisions from the Government.
Although Democratic Party of Kosovo deputy (PDK), Mergim Lushtaku in an interview for Online Economy has indicated that the Civil Code vote is more than necessary.
He said he would ask the Government to come with the required changes in order not to remain hostage to some provisions Cody.
I believe that the civil code is very important and I believe a civil code should be voted in. Of course, we know everyone's attitudes and they're public until there's no change in that respect I've given my attitude”.
“We have the opportunity to ask the Government to come to the amendment demanded by MPs who have not voted it and for us it must pass that Civil Code because it is necessary and not to be held hostage for certain provisions which have unfortunately brought no such Civil Code” to vote, Lushtaku said.
Alliance for the Future of Kosovo MP (AAK), Pal Lekaj, said this party has been quite clear and will not vote on the Civil Code. In his view, they have also received opinions from the electorate, EO reports.
The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo has been quite clear. We will not vote the Civil Code. We have the reasons and consulted the electorate and we have received answers that we should not vote the Civil Code”.
If changed then we can talk, but with this offer Government has made we will not vote the Civil Code”, Lekaj said.
At the spring session, MPs did not vote on the Code, out of a total of 120 deputies, only 77 deputies were present in the hall. Of them, 61 MPs participated in the vote, of which 28 voted “for”, 29 were “Against” and 4 abstained.
