Turkish Interior Minister Sulejman Soylu announced that even 11 injured workers are being treated in hospitals, writes Anadolu.
Noting that 58 out of 110 miners were rescued, he said there is uncertainty about one of the miners, adding that while search-saving efforts are under way.
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Donmez said the fire that broke out in a gallery after the mine explosion is largely under control.
As Turkish President Rexhep Tayip Erdogan monitors the situation closely, the Turkish Presidency wrote on Twitter.
He cancelled a planned trip to the eastern province of Diyarbakir and would instead travel to Amassra on Saturday.
Erdogan said in a Twitter post that search-saving operations are advancing “speed” in the mine.
