What we've seen in the past two months is not only the GRE that has worked for KED's interests, it's also the government. KEDS was privatisation for 24m euros for an extremely small value, but during its net profit activity it had 142m euros, while during the last two months of government Kurti, this company has been subsidised at about 45m euros -- double the value sold -- Krasniqi has said of Info Magazine.
Krasniqi said if KED cannot supply the country with electricity then let it fail and let it nationalise.
If KEDS is responsible for providing us with electricity and it's not making a living that we need to help KEDS, let KED fail and nationalize. They say it's expensive, but we're still getting paid by about 200 million... This government was supposed to give me the solution, not the choice to see KED. According to Krasniqi with the decisions of the Government of Kosovo, citizens are subsidising KEDSBAR even through taxes, even through the depletion of energy and electricity.
Kosovo's “government is sharing it through the subsidy directly with 75m euros, while through the approval of GRE request, some 60m euros in additional euros, within a year it is dropping that by subvention to KEDS of our taxes and payment of close to 200m euros. Unless we're paying our taxes, we're going to pay for it, even through price hikes”, he added.
The moment the government subsidizes KEDS, we're talking about subvention of a private company of our own money, the moment the government makes decisions on price hikes for citizens who spend over 600 megawatts hours of energy, that's what we're paying double”, he said.
He has said that the countries of the region have resolved this problem earlier, as he has not ruled out holding protests.
