Sohail Ahmad, who was two months old when he disappeared on August 19th, was reunited with his relatives in Kabul, Reuters reports.

The baby's father, former American Embassy ruler Mirza Ali Ahmadi, his wife Suraya and the couple's four other children entered Kabul Airport immediately after the surrender, while thousands of people were leaving Afghanistan after the country fell into the Taliban's hands. After he was handed over to his well - being, his family could no longer find him.

After Reuters released an article in November for Ahmad, the baby was found with Hamid Safi, a 29-year-old taxi driver living in Kabul who had found the baby at the airport and taken home to raise it himself. Safi initially refused to hand over the child.
I'm carrying this kid. If his family is found, I'll give them... If not, I will raise it myself,” -- he said Reuters in November.

But on Saturday, after weeks of negotiations and help from the Red Cross and an arrest by the Taliban for kidnapping, Safi finally softened, giving the child to his grandfather and other relatives in Kabul, according to Reuters.
The rest of Sohail's family now live in Michigan and hope that soon he will join them in the United States.
