The Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK) has published the Statistical Reference on Economic Enterprises in Kosovo, for the fourth quarter (TM4) 2021, according to which, during the quarter in question, there are 2,000 and 416 companies registered, or 18.7 per cent less than in the same period in 2020.
According to the report, during TM $2021 there has been a $2.6 per cent decline compared to TM3 2021.
“In the fourth quarter of 2021 (TM4) total are registered 2 416 companies. Compared to the preliminary quarter (TM3 2021) has a decline for (2.6%) companies registered. As compared to the same quarter of the preliminary year (TM4 2020) has a drop for (-18.7%) companies registered”, according to the AK.
In a media communiqué, the ASS suggests that the most popular economic activities in this quarter were: Major and retail trade and engine repair, motorcycles with 646 companies registered (26.73%); Production with 296 registered companies (12.25%); The accommodation and food services activities of 251 registered companies (10.38%); Professional, scientific and technical activities with 237 companies registered (9.80%); Construction with 183 registered companies (7.57%), etc.
In the category of 1 to 4 employed are 2 thousand and 314 companies registered in this quarter (95.78 %); with 5 to 9 employed were 58 sosh (2.4%); with 10 to 19 employed there were 29 registered companies (1.2%); with 20 to 249 employed there were 15 registered companies (0.6%); while in the category of 250 and more employed, there are no registered companies.
As for the geographical alignment of registered companies at the level of municipalities, as in every quarter the municipality of Pristina prevails with 765 registered companies (31.66%); Ferizaj with 234 companies registered (9.69%); Prizren with 169 registered companies (7%); Gjilan with 136 registered companies (5.63%); Peja with 125 registered companies (5.17%); and Fushe Kosova with 117 companies registered (4.84%); while other municipalities have smaller numbers of companies registered in this quarter.
