European Commission Chairman Ursula Von der Leyeen at the joint conference she is holding with Prime Minister Edi Rama did not fail to comment on the situation in northern Kosovo.
She said the situation is very disturbing, and the two countries must reduce tensions and return to dialogue.
Von der Leyen: You've worked on the matter of cooperation and you've had achievements. Increasing Kosovo-Serbia tensions is disturbing, and it is essential to lower tension and return to dialogue. Even the EU was built on the basis of dialogue and then on the basis of economic development. This is a long process that brings about a future of peace and prosperity. I commend Albania for the progress it has had in the Justice Reform. We need to look right at the future, but we must not forget what has been done, about fighting organised crime, and I know you're now working on the fight against money laundering.
