Kurti, through a post on his Facebook account, wrote that this meeting is an expression of the will to mark a more intense stage of mutual co-operation but also an expression of appreciation for our good neighbourly relations.
According to him, today's “Agreements, such as the one for the Prizren road Tetovo and the Brezovica corzovica Popova Spala (Colre of the Sun) and the rehabilitation of the border zone in Han Elez, will facilitate the lives of citizens on both sides of the border. We have political and institutional responsibility”.
His full post:
At today's meeting between the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the Government of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, the first in the history of our two independent states, we signed 11 agreements of co-operation for exile, tourism, energy, the economy, entrepreneurship of innovation, security, transport and cross-border co-operation.
As two democratic states, we share common aspirations for integration into the European Union, as well as commitment to fight organised crime and corruption, injustice and inequality on both sides of the border.
This first meeting is an expression of the will to mark a more intense stage of mutual cooperation but also an expression of appreciation for our good neighbourly relations.
Today's agreements, such as the one for Prizren Street Tetovo and the Komzovica corzovica pova Slipka (Colre of the Sun) and the rehabilitation of the border zone in Han, Elez, will facilitate the lives of citizens on both sides of the border. We have political obligation and institutional responsibility.
Of particular importance is the SOFA agreement, which regulates the status of the Kosovo Security Forces, which enables entry and exit, provisional stance and the transfer of KSF to the territory of northern Macedonia. This will be useful for both countries since, as we have seen this year, KSF beyond being a key military partner and ally, can help citizens in rescue operations.
I thank Prime Minister Zoran Zaev for his hospitality, and for the next meeting, I will have the honor to wait in Pristina.
