Florida police were shot dead, the attack caught on video

A Florida sheriff's department has published a dramatic video of a traffic ban that was turned into a deadly shootout with a man described as a violent <x0-cygriminal”, writes ABC 7. The incident began with what seemed like a routine traffic stop in a car that had three [...]

The incident began from what seemed to be a routine traffic stop in a car that had three adults and a 2 - month - old baby inside.

As the police were talking to two of the passengers, they asked one third to exit the vehicle. He suddenly jumps out of the back seat with a rifle and opens fire repeatedly, while the policemen cover up and try to return fire. A cop got shot in the leg.

As they get down, they don't see the armed person running behind their patrol vehicle and jumping over them.

His gun was apparently trapped, so he used the back of the rifle to hit a cop in the skull repeatedly. The other policeman quickly changes his reporter and is thrown to help, opening fire repeatedly in the nearest distance and killing the assailant.

The incident involving Brivard County sheriffs occurred in August in West Melbourne, Fla.

Investigators say more than 61 bullets were fired in less than a minute.

Suspect died at the scene. He was later identified as Paris Wilder, 38, by Cocoa, Fla.

The sheriff's department describes Wilder as a “Serik” whose record includes 40 arrests for charges involving armed robbery, serious assaults, drug criminal acts, the raid of a law enforcement officer and a serious assassination attempt. He was convicted of two counts of drugs and had two active orders for crimes at the time of the shootout with the police.

I am extremely grateful that our effectiveness is safe and the suspect is no longer on this planet where he can risk someone else's life,” said District Sheriff Wayne Ivey.

He said he was concerned that after so many arrests in the past, Wilder was still on the street. He said he'd find out why.

It was clear that he attacked the effectives because he was required under extraordinary orders and did not want to return to prison, Ivey said.

“Let there be no doubt: This individual got just what he deserved,” said Ivey.

And those out there who might be stupid enough to ask why we shot her so many times, that answer is simple: Because evil can never be dead enough. ”

Injured cop identified by the department as Deputy Brian Potters was shot at the bottom of the leg and his skull was broken with a rifle. He was hospitalized in stable condition and is expected to recover. Potters is a naval veteran who had been in the Sheriff's Office of Brevard County for less than two years, and had previously served at other law enforcement agencies.
