Photos on the Whatsapp show a group of people walking through the Urk municipality Saturday evening dressed in military uniforms and carrying guns.
In one picture, a man claims to shoot another person who is dressed in prison clothes and wears a Star of David, a Hebrew symbol.
In another photograph in Snapchat, eight young people are taking turns pose in an industrial park while wearing clothes similar to Nazi German clothing, writes Euronews, broadcast Klankosova.tv.
Local officials have said the group was protesting against COVID-19 restrictions in the Netherlands.
In a statement, the Urk municipality said the entire community “despised the group's” actions.
This behavior is not only highly punishable and extremely inappropriate, but is also offensive to large population groups”, the statement said.
“As far as the municipality of Urk, a very clear border has been crossed with this tasteless action. ”
Authorities said they were in question with the police and the Public Prosecutor's Service to further investigate the incident.
Unk officials said they would like to talk to young people involved.
“We understand that these young people want their voices heard about the impact of current and future measures”, said city mayor Cees van den Bos.
“Anyway, we don't understand the way they're doing this. Not only the Urk municipality, but the whole community does not approve this protest method”.
