Special Representative of Secretary General and Chief of Staff UNMIK, Zahir Tanin, has joined the international call to reduce tensions between Kosovo and Serbia following the establishment of reciprocity measures for Serbian license plates.
He has said the actions they produce should be avoided in behalf of peace and security.
“P The SSP Tanin points to continued concern over the implementation of measures on the license plates and joins international partners in promoting all sides to address issues through determined dialogue mechanisms, in support of the free movement of persons and goods, and in the interest of populations”.
Pre-unilateral actions bear the risk of escalation and should be avoided in the interest of peace, security and population security. I call on all sides to demonstrate responsible leader and take immediate steps to avoid tensions through the process of political dialogue”, Tan has said.
