Kosovo has expressed readiness to house nearly 2,000 Afghans, who have collaborated with US and NATO forces. So far, around 500 Afghans have been sheltered in Kosovo.

The news comes a day after the development of a telephone conversation by President Vjosa Osmani with US Vice President Kamala Harris. In this conversation, in addition, Osman has warned that he has been discussing the issue of Afghan housing.

“Vice President Harris stressed that the US is deeply grateful to Kosovo for the close co-operation and willingness and generosity shown for the hospitality of thousands of Afghan citizens”, said the announcement issued by the President's Office.
