Kosovo holds record for internet use for news, music and games

Compared to other countries, Albania ranks 23rd, out of 33 countries.
Kosovo citizens are more inclined to spend time on the internet playing, in relation to all other states of the region.
But according to Eurostat, in 2020, they ranked seventh in Europe, after Iceland, with 40% of individuals using the internet in the last three months to play or download games. The most uninterested to spend time on the internet playing are Serbs (21%) and Bosniaks (20%).
When it comes to using the internet to watch TV, or videos, Albanians rank early in Europe, with only 41% of users (out of 74%, which is the European average). Kosovo is again the first in the region, with 81%, Montenegro and Serbia at 70%, Bosnia with 60%.
Other Eurostat data shows that 57% of Albanians use the internet to read online news or newspapers (out of 75% that is the European average). The highest use is to listen to music, with 67% -- the only tendency higher than the European average of 61%.
Tendence in the European Union
In the EU in 2020, 75% of individuals between the ages of 16 and 74 who used the internet in the past three months read online news pages, newspapers and news magazines, while 74% watched TV or video broadcast online.
Percentages were lower to listen to music (61%) and played or downloaded games (34%).
The Netherlands and Cyprus registered the largest burden of people using the internet for TV or video (two 95%), followed by Finland and Malta (both 93%). The lowest percentages have been noted in Romania (37%) and Bulgaria (44%).
The Netherlands had the highest share of individuals playing or downloading games (56%). Malta and Denmark followed 47% each. In Bulgaria and Poland, it was the lowest weight, below 20%.
