Disaster Management and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said the earthquake struck the province's Datca town of Mugla at 7:31 local time, writes Anadolu.
The quake took place at a depth of 1485 miles [1485 km] below the surface, it is further said.
Turkish Deputy Interior Minister Ismail Catakli said on Twitter that so far there are no reports of damage or casualties.
