Many countries worldwide, including Kosovo, are reporting cases of coronavirus infection to people who have been vaccinated against it. Inoculated infections are largely attributed to the fast - spreading Delta version of coronavirus.
In Kosovo, so far, health authorities have confirmed that ten people who were fully vaccinated have been infected with coronavirus, but have added that their health situation is stable.
The New England Journal of Medicine on July 28th has published a study in which the data of almost 11,500 health workers, fully vaccinated with Pfizer vaccines working at the Sheba Medical Center near Tel Aviv in Israel, has been analyzed.
The study has found that vaccinated persons, with higher levels of antibodies, are less likely to be infected with coronavirus.
After continuing tests from the end of January until the end of April, 39 infected employees have been identified, despite being fully vaccinated. The study found that all had mild symptoms or no symptoms at all, but 19 percent had experienced symptoms six weeks after diagonistics.
Of the 39 infected workers, 22 of them have found authors of the study to have had antibodies on the day of infection or a week later. Researchers have then analyzed the levels of antibodies of infected persons, where the levels of antibodies have been found to be lower.
Meanwhile, according to a study conducted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Prevention (CDC) published at the end of July, there have been analysed infections that took place in Barnes. Some 74 percent either 446 cases of infected people have been fully vaccinated. Of these, 79 percent have had symptoms. According to tests conducted, variant Delta was the primary responsibility of these infections.
The spread of the Delta variant, which is a far more contagious version than the original coronavrus version, has caused many countries to face increased cases, and some have even returned to wear masks, such as the U.S. case.
According to American experts, vaccine against COVID-19 reduces the likelihood that vaccinated persons will be infected with coronavrus, but those infected with Delta after the vaccine tend to spread the virus like unexcused persons.
The high level of viral cargo suggests for the risk of transmission and raises concerns that, unlike other variants, vaccinated people, infected with the Delta variant, can transmit the virus”, CDC director Rochelle Walensky said on July 30th, CNN reported.
Prior to the appearance of the Delta version of coronavirus, which was first identified in India in October last year, the vaccine was said to be preventing the spread of the virus. Not only did the vaccinated people have fewer viral loads but also the vaccinated individuals infected with the virus had milder symptoms of the disease and passed on faster.
But research shows that Delta spreads more aggressively. In July, Chinese scientists said that the Delta version had almost 1,000 times more viral loads than the previous variants.
According to the CDC report, the Delta variant is more transmitted than other variants, which are said to have the power of transmission as much as the seasonal flu. This means that under certain conditions, an infected person with the initial version of COVID-19 can, on average, infect two to three others. But an infected Delta person can infect as many as nine others.
This is one of the most transmitted viruses we know”, said CNN Walensky.
The European Center for Disease Control and Prevention (ECDC) said elderly people are the most endangered to be infected with coronavrus even after the vaccine.
“Infectations among people who are fully vaccinated are expected, especially among the elderly or those who have diseases. Vaccines are largely preventing serious illness, yet we still see that cases that end up in the hospital or even in death among these populations”, it said. ECDC. /rel/
