So has the Korca City Hall known through a post in '%Facebook, while waiting for the public to offer hospitality to the Serbian singer, writes Express newspaper.
“COMM SOVSKA is the Albanian song that Goran Bregovic has chosen to open tomorrow's concert in Korca. He with his wonderful music and the audience of the festival with enthusiastic hospitality will deliver tomorrow from Korca the message that art and culture are the bridges of friendship connecting peoples”, it is written in their post.
Despite the widespread public pressure of Albanian artists, the Korca municipality has decided to allow Bregovich to perform at the Beer Fest. He will perform on the last night of this festival.
The Serbian singer has received a series of criticisms, saying that “has inspired Serbian massacres on Albanians”.
In a Serbian television show (Qyrilica) in 2019, Bregovic had talked about a meeting with former Bosnian Serb political leader Radovan Karadzic, who was sentenced to life in The Hague for the siege of Sarajevo, war crimes and genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Bregovic said he once met Karadzic in the lobby of a hotel in Belgrade and that he asked him: “How's our thing going? Karadzic replied: “
After that statement, there were harsh reactions, and Bregovic later said the question and response of Karadzic had to do “with letters at a hotel, rather than with the war, which had never even started”.
Several months later, he again provoked reactions and comments on social networks when he took a photo of Sonja Karadzic, Radovan Karadzic's daughter.
The joint photograph was posted on Twitter by Sonja Karadzic himself.
