VV action: Edi Rama three meetings a year with Vucinqi, none with Albin Kurti

Vetevendosje Movement member Arber Zami says Albania would have to discuss in advance with Kosovo for regional initiatives, but this did not happen.

He provides an example of the fact that Prime Minister Rama has met three times within the year with Vuciq, while there is no intergovernmental meeting with Kosovo or meeting with Prime Minister Kurti.

If Rama thinks that this is in the interest of the region and Kosovo, then why don't you come and discuss it in advance with Kosovo's leaders with the prime minister? Three meetings within one year with Mr. Vucic, while we do not have any intergovernmental meetings or Rama- Kurti” meetings, the VV member said.

Tirana said it is not dealing with agreements it has with Kosovo to make them applicable, but supports initiatives in Serbia's interest. He named a <x0vour” this initiative as well as “a kind of blackmail against the EU to accelerate European integration”.

According to Zaim, the initiative currently called “Open Balkans” is in Serbia's economic interest. Co-operation he said comes at a time when Belgrade has other geostrategic interests, as it co-operates closely with Russia and China and opposes NATO.

Regional agreements should be discussed on rational grounds. I remember that on July 10th Serbia's trade agreement with Moscow-based Euro-Asian union countries took effect. Arbe Zaimi added that Serbia's “needs to be pressured to change and not to open-handedly cut its” initiatives.

According to him, Albania loses 120m euros annually in trade exchanges, while earning 150m euros annually with Kosovo. “Rama does not have the luxury to ruin with Kosovo and regulate relations with Serbia”, he concluded.
