According to the World Health Organization, the Delta version is about 60% more contagious than the Alpha version discovered in the United Kingdom.
Experts say variant Delta can spread much easier than all other variants in an environment where people are not vaccinated or use masks.
Scientists have found that people infected with the Delta variant have far higher levels of the virus's presence compared with previous mutations, what results from the fact that this version of the virus is much more contagious.
In the city of Seattle, Washington State, public health officials have issued orders to use masks in the domestic public environments as a result of increased infection with the Delta version.
The order is also being applied to the vaccinated part of the population.
Most Americans not vaccinated against COVID-19 say it is unlikely to be isolated, doubting that vaccines are not effective against variant Delta. The findings were published in a new survey highlighting the challenges facing public health officials while the number of infections is increasing in some countries.
A big question raised is whether mutation Delta makes people sicker than the original version of the virus, something that is still being studied.
But what is certainly known is that those who are not fully vaccinated are the most endangered. Hospital authorities across the country say those who are hospitalised with the Delta variant are younger, compared to the trend during previous waves of coronary.
For now, doctors say the vaccine is the best protection from Option Delta.
