Technical teams expected to meet next week before Kurti-Vucciq meeting

Sources in Brussels have warned that next week, more precisely Tuesday and Wednesday (6 July) and 7 July), there will be new meetings under dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, but not at the top level. After the first meeting of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's president, Aleksandar [...]
The Kosovo delegation will be led by Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi, while Serbia's director of the Office for Kosovo in Serbia's Government, Petar Petkov.
Radio Europe Free Radio correspondent in Brussels says that sources within the EU have not detailed what the topics of these meetings will be, but have warned that in their context the agreements reached so far in dialogue and the extent of their implementation will be discussed. This meeting will also be used for the preparation of a new meeting between Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, which is expected to take place by the end of this month in Brussels.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, met for the first time in Brussels on June 15th under the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
Kurti had proposed signing a peace agreement, where Kosovo and Serbia would pledge that they would not attack each other, as well as have called for mutual recognition.
Meanwhile, Vuciq had raised the issue of forming the Association of Serb majority municipalities in Kosovo.
According to diplomats' assessments in Brussels, that meeting had witnessed how different both sides' positions are.
EU officials who were involved in mediating dialogue, both High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Josep Borrell and EU Special Envoy for Dialogue Miroslav Lajcak, have announced member states of the results of that meeting.
Member states continue to support dialogue and expect it to result in an agreement on the comprehensive normalisation of reports between Kosovo and Serbia.
Dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, with European Union mediating, has started in 2011.
