Novak Djokovic loses in the semifinals: Sʹka gold medal for Serbia lags behind Kosovo

Kosovo-born Serbia was defeated today in the semifinals by the naturalised German Alexander Zverev, 2 to 1 in the set.

Djokovic and Serbia have been hoping to win gold in tennis. They have even estimated almost 100 percent of them the most valuable medal in the sport. This is because Djokovic is number one in the world in tennis.

If he did, the neighbouring state would equal Kosovo in terms of gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and would pass it in the overall ranking.

So far, Serbia has only one such medal, one silver and two bronzes.

In the overall ranking, this country holds 26 positions. Kosovo, which Serbia by no means accepts, is 8 positions highest, as 18th in the ranks of the most successful Olympics states.
