German Chancellor Angela Merkel has taken the American company's vaccine, Modernna, as the second dose of vaccination against Covid, although in April for the first dose received the vaccine from the AstraZeneca company.
BBC television, quoting a government spokesman, reported on Tuesday that Merkel has received the Modernna vaccine these days. Millions of doses of AstraZeneca vaccine have been given in Europe, but there are still concerns about its possible blood clotting relationship.
The magazine “Nature” reported last month that scientists are investigating the efficiency of the vaccine mix for Covid-19 and found that the immune system can offer sufficient responses, writes Fox News.
Germany is reportedly among several states that have decided to use vaccines by Pfizer and Modern companies as second doses for people who for the first dose have received the AstraZeneca company vaccine.
The National Consulting Commission said on Saturday that those who have taken AstraZeneca vaccine as the first dose should take the vaccine of Pfizer or Modern companies for second doses.
