Lekaj: Kurti government is not interested in citizen

The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) has warned that they will initiate the law in the country for pardoning debts for both citizens and businesses, even after not voting the proposed resolution in the Assembly on the issue. This party's MP, Paul Lekaj, stressed that following the failure of the resolution's vote, it is more difficult to adopt this law, as, according to him, Kurti Government is not interested in the citizen but in its political interests.

“As far as the initiative of the legal initiative is concerned, I think it's fair of any parliamentary group, of MPs who launch such legal initiatives, but if we rely on the resolution that has not been adopted, it's very difficult for us to pass the law because the current government is not really interested in citizenship, but rather they are doing politics than dealing with citizens, and what we've seen right is to demand amnesty for debts during the pandemic. Finally we as AAK will initiate the law that enforces debt”.

Opposition support, Lekaj calls it unique, but the main blame remains in position again, hoping to change on the issue.

And if we start by voting, the opposition think it is unique in this direction, but the position is known to have been against, and I think they're changing over this period and thinking differently. From this year's pandemic of even 2020, I think it's fair that the amnesty law occurs and if that doesn't happen, then responsibilities remain with the current government”, he stressed.

The inclusion of debt forgiveness is for citizens as well as for businesses, Lekaj says.

“We will also start with the pardoning of debts for both citizens and businesses, and according to the rules, the law of the Constitution of Kosovo, parliament is the law-breaking organ, adopts the law, and can house citizens”, it concluded.

While the Social Democratic Party (PSD) is collecting signatures seeking forgiveness of debts for citizens during the pandemic.

Nature Kuci, official of this party, said Vetevendosje is opposing this bill after it has been initiated by the same party, but should not continue with this trend because it is no shame to help citizens.

“What the PSD is doing, so it's collecting signatures, which would have to be 10,000 so as to send the bill to the Assembly. So what started? The AAK has been for business and we are doing what we're doing is for the fines of small citizens and businesses, which are worth over 10 million, so it's not just a political party doing it, but it's a requirement of citizens of this country. And I think the least you can do is vote this bill”, she said.

And all of this makes us realize that Vetevendosje is opposing this bill even though it's initiated by us and that I don't think it's going to have to go on with this avaz and this policy access trend because at least it's no shame to help citizens and take responsibility for all that you've done. And that makes us realize that the pandemic was the most harmful of political parties”.

Kuci stresses that VV statements are scandalous in terms of pardoning fines, and it is unfair not to be supported, EO reports.

We have noted the scandalous statements of Mimoza Kusari, who is the head of the VV parliamentary group, where she had said that it would be better to pay the current in the north than to have our soldiers returned to the coffins while now saying that citizens' sentences should not be forgiven, but citizens should be punished for not respecting the measures, where we actually know how those sentences were issued. So the sentences were wrongly imposed, and the sentences did not stop the”, it ended.
