The annual report ran 209 cities based on the cost of living, including housing, transportation and food.
Jean-Philippe Sarra of Mercer has told the AFP news agency that “high local inflation” has made price increases in Ashgabat.
Known for autocratic governance and large gas reserves, Turkmenistan has been constantly in economic crisis.
Among the top ten most expensive cities are three Swiss cities, including Cyril.
