On Sunday, a court in Cairo sentenced him in absentia to 10 years in prison. The other advisor, Mawada al-Adham, 23, who was present, was sentenced to six years in prison, writes the BBC, translates Periscope.
They were accused of using girls through the video distribution app to make money.
The verdict came five months after another court overturned a prison sentence for the two girls charged with “violation of family values” with videos posted at TikTok.
Human Rights activists said that the two women had been persecuted as part of Egypt's printing of women in social media.
Hossam, a student from Cairo University who had over 900 thousand followers in TikTok, was first arrested in April 2020. /Periscope
