Thaci's Hague team reinforces, former Gotovina attorney appointed

It is Luka Misetic, the Croatian-American lawyer who had defended at the International Court for the Former Yugoslavia, former Croatian General Ante Gotovina, until his innocence was declared.
This will be the second lawyer on Thaci's team, which has been involved in Gotovina's defence since several days ago, David Hoopeer's replacement, was appointed lawyer, Gregory Keohe, also former Croatian general's lawyers.
And that's exactly Keohe, the one who has requested Mistic's appointment on his defense team. Special Missef will be the role of Keohesm's lead associate. Once the request was submitted, Keohe has forwarded to the Special Register all the necessary documentation of Misetic, which is immediately accredited on the list of defence lawyers representing parties in Special.
The two annexes of Mistic's appointment to Thaci's defence team are not published because they contain confidential information.
Misetic was born and raised in Chicago, U.S.A.
His parents were Croatian immigrants from western Herzegovina near Ljubuški (now part of Bosnia and Herzegovina), writes news.net. Misetic first visited Croatia when he was 16, in 1986. He learned Croatian from his family.
At the start of the Croatian Independence Misetic War sent financial assistance to Croatia. Misetic is considered one of the world's 100 most influential Croats. In 1996 Misetic won membership in Illinois State Lawyer and the US District Court.
A year later, in 1997 he became a member of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague.
Misetic is also a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the Association of Defence Lawyers before the ICTY and the Illinois State Lawyers Association.
In 1999 he was selected among the 12 most promising lawyers in Chicago.
Misetic received international attention while protecting a Bosnian Croat, Anto Furundcija, in 1999.
He was the youngest lawyer ever to defend a case before an international criminal court.
While preparing the protection of Furund Mihaija at the Zagreb hotel Sheraton he met with Ante Gotovina.
In October 2001, he became his lawyer, implementing Gotovina's release in November 2012.
Misetic has appeared before the International Court of Justice in The Hague.
It also represents clients in international arbitration issues ahead of The Hague's Permanent Court of Arbitrazhi, as well as the International Centre for Settlement of Non-Agreements.
