The only choice needed to end this pandemic is co-operation”, WHO Director General said.
The current “Diplomacy of vaccines is not co-operation, it is geopolitical maneuver”, he charged.
We can't beat this virus by competing with each other. If we race for resources or geopolitical advantage, then it's the virus that benefits”, Tedros insisted.
Tedros noted that during the past week alone, the pandemic has killed nearly 90,000 people and infected some 5.4 million people.
During his two-week press conference, he warned against any complacency in regions where the health situation is improving, but remains “on a plateau at an unacceptable level”.
