We all know COVID-19 spreads through conversation, coughing, sneezing and close physical contact.
A new study, however, says that the coronary can also be in sperm and can transmit the disease.
Researchers found 38 patients aged 15-59 who were under the treatment of coronarys at the Sanongqui Municipal Hospital in the province of Henan.
15 of these participants provided a sperm sample during the peak of their illness, and 23 followed suit right after they recovered. Interestingly, the genetic code of viruses was found in the sperm of four patients in the first group and two in the latter.
The introduction of the virus to patients' sperm does not necessarily indicate the presence of an infectious” virus, explains an article in The Conversion.
So it will be critical to show if an infectious virus can also be isolated in patient sperm and SARS-CoV-2”.
Dr. Stanley Perlman, professor of microbiology, immunology and pediatrics at Ioea University, agrees. In an interview with the New York Times, he said: “this is an interesting discovery, but it must be confirmed that there is an infectious virus, not just a virus product in sperm”.
More research is needed to say finally whether sex is popular or not. However, being too careful is essential.
“The use of a condom can be considered a preventative tool for these patients”, the authors stated, writes Menshealth.
