Three opposition political parties have yet to co-ordinate in The Kosovo Assembly. P DK, LDK and AAK are continuing to be divided in attitudes and actions to confront Government Kurti, even over a month after the eighth legislature was dedicated. As they acknowledge that they have differences among themselves, representatives of the three parties hope in the future to unify attitudes to find the way to co-operation.
Headship Member PDK, Betim Djoshi, says his party, as the largest in the opposition, will try to co-operate with the other two parties when there are important topics.
But according to him, The PDK has its identity and will never become part of markets with the government, as a part of the opposition has said.
We will never be part of deals with the government, as we have witnessed in the case of electing the president and the government. Another part of the opposition has gone into agreement with them. We are clear ...when there are sensitive topics we will co-ordinate with the opposition, it is our duty as the largest opposition party. But we are distinguished by other parties, like the PDK, we will try to co-operate on important topics. The rest, we have our identity as the PDK and from our angle we will oppose the government and oversee its actions with the utmost care, he says.
That there is a lack of opposition co-operation in the Kosovo Assembly and Paul Lekaj from the AAK says.
Until today, we don't have any collaboration, or co-ordination of how to act as the unique opposition. Every political subject has its own goals, protects its plan in what citizens have offered during the elections. But that does not mean that the future will not be co-ordinated for vital affairs of the state of Kosovo”, he says.
Meanwhile, Besa Gageri from the LDK says her party will maintain its subjectivity, but will find the way to co-operation with the opposition on topics that serve the country's good.
“The LDK will maintain its subjectivity and simultaneously co-operate with the opposition on topics the opposition parties agree on. The LDK is already known for its constructiveity and co-operation in every aspect in the service of the overall good for the country”, she says.
In this year's parliamentary elections, The PDK was ranked second party with 19 deputies, The LDK, with 15 deputies and AAK with 8 deputies. But weeks ago, a PDK deputy moved into the Vetevendosje Movement parliamentary group, leaving her PDK with 18 deputies. The three parties are the opposition to the Kurti government, which has the majority in the Assembly.
