The Social Democrat Party is aiming through civic petition, proposal amending the law on pardoning citizens' fines during the pandemic.
PSD headship member Dren Kukaj in front of the media has said they have compiled a bill for the forgiveness of pandemic fines.
The “Time period of March 15th last year until May 15th of this year. We aim at 10,000 citizen signatures and be placed in the order of the day in the Kosovo Assembly”, Kukaj said.
Through a civic- “petition granting pandemic fines”, Kukaj has demanded that existing measures be removed, adding that the same must be implemented by all.
Over 180 thousand fines have already been pronounced. We invite citizens to respond positively to our” invitation, Kukaj said.
PSD Secretary General Teute Rrusta said that in Kosovo during the pandemic, problems like violence and poverty have been further highlighted.
“We have political parties that were not responsible at all, even were destructive in public health relation. If the measure does not affect everyone the same, it does not establish justice. Our request is for justice. Political parties are not adopted by this law. In the next few days, we will be in every municipality in Kosovo. The petition begins Thursday until the collection of 10,000 signatures”, it added.
