A BBC reporter in Gaza said there have been numerous bombings and that armed ships, fighter planes and helicopters have been used in the attacks.
Over 100 people have been killed in Gaza and seven others in Israel since the start of Monday's fighting.
Israeli Defence Minister Benny Gantz ordered massive security forces reinforcement to suppress internal uprisings, with more than 400 people being arrested.

In Gaza, Palestinians frightened by the possible entry of Israeli troops have fled the border near the border with Israel. The Israeli Army said it has carried out a night-time operation to destroy a network of Hamas' tunnels, but no soldier has entered Gaza.
In a statement released Friday morning, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyah said the Israeli Army's operation against Palestinian militants in Gaza will continue as much as necessary and that Hamas will pay a high price for missile attacks.
