US President Joseph Biden called today for de-progression of violence in the Middle East, where the conflict in Gaza has intensified, saying he wants a significant reduction of missile attacks.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, Biden said he expected more talks with leaders in the region, Reuters reports.
Otherwise, the Israeli army is gathering forces along the border with the Gaza Strip to prepare for a ground operation, military spokesman Hiday Zilberman said.

The Health Ministry at the Gaza Strip announced that the number of Palestinians killed had risen to 87 to tonight, including 18 children and eight women, and that 530 people were injured, according to the AP.
On the Israeli side, seven were killed, including a six-year-old child in a missile attack and a soldier in an antitank blast.
The Israeli Army announced earlier that an air strike was carried out at Hamas intelligence facility. It has also been declared that the attacks were carried out in four apartments of Hamas' top commander in the Gaza Strip, Israeli media reported.
All these apartments are said to have been used to launch missile attacks in Israeli cities.
