Although such figures are not based on science, Dr. Waldrop says they can be used as general instructions.

Various types of coffee and tea affect hydration levels differently. For example, black coffee or tea will be less hydration than white coffee or a cup of tea with milk, says Dr. Gandhi.

While milk may seem to be a poor source of hydration, some studies have shown that it encourages exercise rehydration, even more successful than certain sports.

Try to drink milk without sweeting because sweet drinks can lead to dehydration faster.

Generally, coffee and tea do not necessarily oppose hydration, as many once believed, says Dr. Gandhi. Your body will absorb the fluids you consume through tea and coffee and thus contribute to hydration.
