Monday, all lawyers will boycott court hearings

The chairman of the Kosovo Lawyers' House, Behar Ejupi, in the special edition in Klan Kosova, has said that the reason for this is the problems lawyers have in addressing the objects of these two institutions.

“Since September 2020, the Constitutional Prosecutor in Pristina has issued several decisions that present obstacles to lawyers to have access to the Pristina Constitutional Prosecutor, Kujtim Munishi, given that lawyers are denied their phones, they are obliged to enter scanners, receive sides, and”.

“We, like the Ode of Kosovo Lawyers, have initially tried to communicate with Pristina's chief prosecutor, but the same one has not taken time to respond to the request. We have been forced to deal with the issue seriously, and we have also addressed it at the Kosovo Council of Lawyers' Board, where we have taken a stance to address KKPs related to eliminating obstacles to lawyers”.

Ejupi has said they have not received concrete answers to the reason for their lawyers' problems.

And then we didn't get any concrete answers to these problems and we were interested in sitting down and discussing all of this, and then we made the decision to boycott access to the Constitutional Prosecutorship in Pristina, but even with regard to this decision they haven't reflected and we realized that the Prosecutor authorized the police to conduct investigative actions. Since they haven't reflected, we have been forced to expand the boycott for the Special Prosecutor, given that even all the lawyers are facing these problems”.

On Monday, all Kosovo lawyers will boycott hearings at Pristina Foundation Prosecutor and Special. Boykot has expanded and the decision of the Kosovo Bar Council is in effect from March 8th to 8:00th,818x1>.
