Big European national coach to resign shortly after World

According to recent reports, Roberto Martinez is expected to leave the post of choice of Portugal's National Army after the end of the 2026 World Cup, despite the results the team can achieve in the tournament.
The Spanish technician has contracted only until the end of July and reportedly has already decided not to renew it. After three years at the helm of Portugal, Martinez seems ready for a new challenge in his career.
By Talk SPORT, 52-year-old has made the decision before the World's launch and is considering opportunities to return to club football. A return to the Premier League remains an open option, while its name has also been linked to some important posts across Europe.
Also, he is not ruled out to take the lead in another future national.
During his period with Portugal, Martinez had different results. Although the team was eliminated from France in the quarterfinal of Euro 2024 after the penalty, the Portuguese reacted strongly, triumphing over Spain in last summer's League of Nations final.
Now his goal is to close the adventure with Portugal in the best way possible, trying to bring the country the first World Cup trophy in history.
Martinez has two World experience with Belgium Nationals. In 2018 he led the Belgians into third country, and four years later he experienced a major disappointment with the elimination of the group stage.
Portugal is considered one of the favourites to win the 2026 World Cup, thanks to a team filled with stars and qualities in each department.
Their trip to the tournament will start with the Congo confronting, while in Group K, they will also play against Uzbekistan and Colombia. /Telegraph/
