Five messages Lajcak brought to Kosovo today

Lajcak has spoken about the outcome of extraordinary elections by congratulating Albin Kurtin and Vjosa Osmani on the result.

A Kosovo that has completed the elections has given a strong mandate to Mrs. Osmani and Mr. Kurt. I have some messages, the first is that congratulations on parliamentary elections, which for the first time were held without an active role of the international community”, Lajcak said.

The EU emissary has said that the second message is that the European Union and the US, already with the Biden administration, have closer relations than can be envisioned.

The second message is that the European Union and the United States, one in a partnership, and I would like to stress that with the arrival of the Biden Relations Administration, the relationship is closer to being envisioned”, he has said further, adding that they support the programme for fighting corruption and creation of new jobs.

My third message is support for Mr. Kurt and Mrs. Osman. The EU will support new jobs and fighting corruption, these are our top priorities”, he has said.

As for continuing dialogue, Lajcak says dialogue will continue.

“Message number four is that EU states and the United States support continuing dialogue on issues that are important to each Kosovo citizen, in this context I had a long discussion with Mr. Kurti and Mrs. Osmani. The dialogue will continue, we will create some internal procedures”, said the EU emissary, who eventually called for political unity in Kosovo.

My final message is for political unity in Kosovo, dialogue is not the responsibility of one side or political party, but of all parties”, he has said.
