The Igumen of the Decani Monastery, Sava Yanjiq, praised that the main precondition for dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade is equal respect for rights and freedoms for all in Kosovo and that, as he said, “is absurd to develop a dialogue in which Serbia must fulfill the wishes of the other side.
“Dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina is primarily important for normalising life in Kosovo and the region. But the main precondition for dialogue is equal respect for rights and freedoms for all in Kosovo, which is not the case, he has written on the social Twitter network.
According to him, any hasty or imposed solution that unilaterally privilege one side and damages the other is essentially irresistibly unjust.
“To insist on changing borders contrary to UN Resolution 1244 as a precondition for an agreement is an open call for further conflict throughout the region”, Janjic wrote.
Janiq points out that dialogue should continue with goodwill and improve people's lives, protect the endangered Serb heritage in Kosovo, prevent youth migration and improve the economic situation is vital.
A fair solution to the situation in Kosovo, Janjaq stressed, would greatly influence the future and the EU's reputation as an mediator.
“The EU in this role, with the stance of member states that have not recognised Kosovo, largely due to the possible consequences for their countries, has the obligation to remain status neutral and a goodwill mediator --” later wrote Janjic, reports the Serbian portal “Kosovo Online”, broadcasting Klan Kosova.
He concluded that the role of the United States in the dialogue process is very important, especially if the search for a balanced solution is supported, respect for human and religious rights.
