Turkey's “President Erdogan has asked the new Kosovo prime minister to reconsider the opening of the embassy in Jerusalem”, writes Israel Hayom.
Erdogan made this request in a letter of congratulations to Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who assumed the post of chief executive at the beginning of the week. Prime Minister Kurti's office issued a copy of the letter Thursday.
Kosovo became the first European state and the first majority Muslim state to place embassy in the city of Jerusalem, after the US and Guatemala.
Erdogan on the other side has warned the Kosovo government earlier that this move could damage Kosovo-Turkey relations in the future.
Some countries have either opened or pledged to open diplomatic offices in the city of Jerusalem.
